As our initial idea for our soap opera didn't include any diegetic sound with a non-diegetic voice over at the end, we thought about what we could put in the piece.
We thought about the different story lines we would show in the first piece and created a simple mind map on some diegetic words we could use. We thought about Todorov's theory of equilibrium and included soft, calm things but shown with a contrast of disruption and anger.
After looking at these, we decided we definitely didn't want to include any diegetic dialogue as it ruined the intensity of the piece. We created a script including diegetic sounds, such as the car at the beginning of the trailer. We also included a few separate things like whether the scene was interior or exterior and who was involved in the scene.
