Rough Magazine 2

This is the second draft of our magazine. We have already changed certain parts including adding the barcode and the dates and price. We spent the time to take new pictures with a high quality camera as the camera we used first made the pictures pixelated and they didn't look professional.

Rough Cut 2 Audience Feedback

After reviewing the feedback from our various audiences, we edited our first drafts to create a second, improved version of each media product. We then asked other media peers for more technical feedback as well as other varied audiences, specifically our target market who would provide more realistic feedback on the reception of our products.

Rough Cut Trailer

Positives:
- There's a variety of camera angles demonstrating good media knowledge and attention to conventions of soap operas
-  The meaning and narrative is clearer than in the previous cut
-  A soundtrack has been used

Negatives:
- The non-diegetic soundtrack is repetitive and the pitch is too high - it doesn't appeal to the older people of our target audience
- The foley effect is not realistic
- There isn't a voice over at the end (missing convention/incomplete)

Rough Cut Poster

Positives:
- There is little free space and the left third includes the main cover line and another cover line, as well as the selling price
- It's eye-catching due to the images and bright colours
- The images are cut out well

Negatives
- It doesn't look professional
- The top left offer doesn't look professional and there is a gap beside it
- There are still lots of gaps only filled with block colours

Rough Cut Magazine

Positives:

- There are more images which are cut out well and professionally
- The colour scheme is bright and eye-catching
- The cover lines are catchy and memorable

Negatives:
- It still doesn't look professional - potentially too much colour
- There is a lack of images and there is still too much space left over
- The text needs to be changed so that it stands out more and reflects the conventions of a soap opera magazine

With the feedback received, we will improve our second cut to the final media products we wish to create.
